Acomb Store Home Cinema Make-over

WE ARE USED to assisting our customers get the look they want for their home cinema room but this time it was Paul our Acomb store manager who wanted a new look for displaying large screen entertainment and home theatre surround sound.

Showcasing the latest 4K Ultra high definition LED television technology (when it arrives!) and a selection of home cinema equipment including SONOS, Sony and Panasonic the space will allow you to see and hear what's possible in your own home.

We tasked Phil our joiner to creat a standard stud wall system to include a reveal to suit a 65" LED TV and a cupboard to house amplifiers, a bluray and IR control system. Below you can see the final touches being added as one of our talented salesmen, John adds the wall paper to give the final effect.

With interest in home cinema, sound bars and "hidden hi-fi (in-ceiling speakers, receivers and players hidden out of sight)" on the rise the demonstration area will allow our clents to visualise their own ideas  with ease. Please call in for a chat to see how you could benefit.

We are also pleased to announce a dedicted SMEG area in the Acomb showroom which will diplay their latest Range Cookers and Retro Fridges and Freezers. Thank you to SMEG for providing such great artwork.

London to Paris Charity Bike Ride

A HUGE thank you to all our customers and suppliers (Hoover, Panasonic, Siemens, Belling, Hotpoint, Lliebherr, Sony, AB Electrical and Bosch) who have generously donated to see David complete this epic journey to the land of cheese and garlic. David has been in training completing the Blenhiem Triathalon and assorted other challenges over the last six months and sets off today to raise even more money for the Hospice of St Francis.

Between all the participants over £160K has been raised so far to go to charity with David personally raising over £1500. If you would like to donate before he finishes on Saturday the 6th July please go to http://www.doitforcharity.com/DTodd. 

DAY 1 is a casual 90 miles from London to Dover and gives David a chance to don his new lycra shorts! Here he is at 6am ready for action!

DAY 2 after 48 miles of "undulations" and constant drizzle it's time for lunch. Clearly French weather forecasting is as good as the English! The boys are very happy to report a cracking lunch (preumably with cheese and garlic) and pass on their thanks to all the supports including many French locals who have turned out to cheer them on.

DAY 3 Lunch stop. After 37 moles this morning passing through poppy covered battle fields it's time for a rest in a very picturesque French town with the most fantastic local football pitch. 206 miles completed with just over 100 to go. Hoping to reach Beauvais for overnight in time to see Murray spank the Pole at Wimbledon.

DAY 4 - THE FINAL PUSH 

Another 60 miles cycled and the final run in to Paris is in sight! Thankfully a motorised escort vehicle is on hand to assist our passage into the city. Over 120 cyclists dressed in yellow were quite a sight and it was great to have so many well wishers wave us on during the final leg...

Harrogate Sony Centre Closes

Shortly after the closure of the York Sony Centre the doors have shut on their Harrogate shop for the last time. We have had a steady stream of enquiries from Sony Centre customers regarding service and sales of SONY products and would like to offer our assistance with any issues you may have. 

We are an authorised Sony service centre so please give us a call or email with any queries you have and we will try and help. New 2013 SONY products are appearing in our showrooms so pop in for a demonstration!

Our Percy's Lane branch in central York gets an overhaul LOEWE style...

We're always looking for ways to improve the experience in our showrooms so when Loewe said they were looking to shop fit some of their Partner Stores we jumped at the chance. The wall will be home to seven of the premium German TV manufacturers LED televisions as well as their new sound systems - please call in for a look, we have some great opening offers!

What a great day out we had @ York Lifestyle Exibition 2013!

It was fantastic to be able to invite onto our stand so many great people from around York including the Leader of the Local Council James Alexander and the Lord Mayor of York. We were proud to be able to celebrate our history in York and now in Harrogate and do our bit towards raising over £600 for our charities - York House and York Against Cancer AND make three lucky winners significantly richer with their share of the £1500 prize fund!



We must have given over 300 3D demonstrations and given away hunderds of LED torches, pens and sweets courtesy of Panasonic UK. Here you can see Matthew Todd explaining to the Lord Mayor that "not only has 3D TV really come of age now but the glasses make you look REALLY cool too.. Sir..!"
